After being here for a coupld of weeks, I'm finding that Forks really isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's a lot like home minus my insane family, which makes it a great improvement. The hospital isn't far from where I'm living, so there's no need to drive the heap of a car I bought in California anymore. Dr. Cullen has taken me under his wing at the hospital, more so than the rest of the staff anyway. Everyone here is incredibly nice, on the whole, which has made things a lot easier. Though, I know from living in a small town, everyone's business is public knowledge and I don't expect this place to be much different. It will be a nice place to start out, if anything.

Much to my dread, Carlisle and his family are planning a charity auction for the hospital this weekend to 'welcome' me. I'm not one for social events, I never have been. Not to mention the random things I pick up from people is quite annoying, especially when I can't tell who it was from. Names, dates, opinions...anything that could possibly be hiding in their head is something for me to hear. I'm still not sure how it works entirely, I've gotten to where I can ignore it. I'm no fortune teller, no mind reader, thankfully, but I don't always hear things I'd like to be hearing. It would be useful if I could control it. Anyway, back to this event on Saturday. I considered not attending, but Carlisle made short work of that plan. I suppose I'll just have to grin and bear it.
